Smelly Good Stuff
I’m Tami Williams. I wear a lot of hats here at Branru Farm—I’m the founder, the CEO, and sometimes literally the chief bottle washer! My husband and I have been "doing the farm thing" as a side gig since 2004. Like many farm stories, ours started small: just a couple of goats to provide fresh milk for our family.
What started as a small family hobby quickly grew. Fast forward a few years, and we found ourselves with about 30 head of goats in any given year!
We loved our herd, but we eventually ran into a very "milky" problem: we had way more fresh goat milk than our family could ever drink. I knew I had to find a way to share this goodness with our community.
My first big idea? Ice cream! I spent time perfecting goat milk ice cream with every intention of selling it at our local farmer’s market. I was so excited—until I found out that selling home-produced dairy products like ice cream isn't allowed in my home state.
It was a total bummer, but it ended up being the "spark" that led to everything you see on this site today.
Determined not to let that liquid gold go to waste, I turned to the internet. I discovered you could make soap from goat milk. I thought, "Seriously?! I can do that!"
I bought a book, gathered my materials, and tried my first batch. YIKES. Back then, there weren't many tutorials, and I ended up burning the heck out of that first batch. What a stinky mess! But I didn’t give up. I did more research, found a better way, and tried again. That second batch? It was perfect. The rest, as they say, is history.
We take pride in our farm and products
Our goats are all are spoiled-rotten babies! Each has a name, a personality, and brings us happiness (as well as their milk).
We are so excited to share the magic of Branru Farm with you.
Tami Williams is the CEO of Branru Farm, a small family-owned goat farm in New Mexico. She is a self-described "goat whisperer" who can get even the most stubborn goat to do her bidding. Here she is having her morning training meeting.
Poe and Gandolph are self-appointed administrative assistants. They always know when it's time to milk the goats!
They are the purrfect team, and they make their boss very happy.
Mr. Boots McGruff, the buck, is a farm manager who is always on the job. He's always hoofing it around the farm, making sure that everything is running smoothly.
